Hartsville Home Educators (HHE), located in Hartsville, SC, has united for the
purpose of offering families who homeschool enouragement, support, educational
programs through our Co-op, and activities for member families.
Encouragement
Each year we hold a "Back-to-School" Banquet for those who are primarily
responsible for the teaching of their children. We come together in August for a
wonderful evening of fellowship and fun. This provides an opportunity for new
members to meet veteran members, who share their adventures in homeschooling.
Support
Monthly Mother's Night Out (MNO) meetings are held in member's homes to provide
fellowship and support. Each month has a different theme, from listening to a guest
speaker to getting together to complete a seasonal craft project. Each October
fathers are invited to attend and enjoy listening to a father share what
homeschooling has meant to him and his family. We meet the second Tuesday or
Thursday of each month.
Fellowship
Our annual "Family Gathering" is a fun time for the entire family. We come together
on a Saturday afternoon bringing a pot-luck dish to share with all. Games and
different activities create a day of enjoyment.
Educational Programs
HHE's Co-op has grown tremendously over the past few years. We offer weekly
educational courses for Preschool through 12th grade. Member mothers and
fathers volunteer in the teaching of the various courses.
Annual Achievement tests are offered in the early Spring for all interested families.
Tests are administered by registered Testers of HHE membership and are
submitted to BJU Press Testing & Evaluation Service to be scored.
An "Educational Fair" and "Talent Night" are evenings where the children have an
opportunity to showcase their educational and creative talents.
Activities for Children
Age Level Coordinators work to provide each age level with monthly activities, such
as games, skating parties, field trips, bowling, and so much more.
An "Academic Achievement Night" is held at the end of the school year for all
member children to participate in. From Kindergarten graduation to High School
graduation, this is a night that brings recognition to each child.
Staying in Touch
Each member is added to an email loop in order to receive up to date information
about HHE. This website provides a secured member section that showcases the
activities of the children, our Co-op schedule, and our calendar of opportunities.
